As we have been having such lovely weather so far this spring, I have taken the opportunity to get out on some long walks and enjoy the beautiful Sussex countryside. My Dad owns a piece of land in the next village to where I live where he keeps a few animals, pigs, sheep, chickens and ducks. It has some lovely views of the downs and recently our sheep have had some very cute lambs, one of which was abandoned by its mother and my Dad is now hand rearing. For a couple of weekends in a row my mum, sister and I have walked the 10 mile round trip from our house to the farm and back.
The walk takes us over a plant nursery, through sheep fields and down some lovely country lanes. The trip to the farm takes about two hours, when we arrive we walk a little bit further down the road to the local pub for lunch. Walking around the pretty village of West Chiltington and seeing the lovely houses makes me so much more motivated to save for a house of my own.
I struggle with pain in one of my toes, so walking such a long way can be a problem if I'm not wearing comfortable shoes, and unfortunately I have not found the ideal pair for these long walks. So by the time I get back home I cannot wait to sit down and put my feet up.
Having not been out taking pictures for a little while this walk is a perfect opportunity for some sunny countryside shots. I hope to go on more of these walks and take some more pictures, hopefully my fitness will gradually improve and I will be able to do these walk with a bit more ease.
